Web-a-dex Stakes Claim in Internet Gold Rush April 4, 2000 San Antonio, Texas IMMEDIATE RELEASE In late November last year, Silver Star Studio of San Antonio, Texas, owned by Michael Steenbergen, filed the business name Web-a-dex Internet Services. A few months earlier, Steenbergen had purchased 5 internet domains, including WEB-A-DEX.COM, thus staking a clear claim in the internet gold rush. Modeling the web site after the large national providers, Web-a-dex has consistently offered user friendly information and premium free services. While concerned mostly with the production of music from the rock opera, "Space Rocker", Silver Star Studio sees the internet expansion as logical in today's business climate. Silver Star, the media, finance, production and promotion tool of the rock opera, significantly diversifies with the launch of the Web-a-dex domain, adding new dimensions, and several new services. Web-a-dex opened with a holiday advertising campaign in the local central Texas newspapers. Steenbergen affirms the effectiveness of using the print media in conjunction with the internet. "A small ad in Austin and San Antonio over a 10 day period brought a consistent 50 new visitors a day to the web site for weeks. That was five days in each city." In conjunction with World-Net, another San Antonio company, Web-a-dex provides local dial up internet access for the region at about 75% of the cost of national providers like America On Line, GTE and ATT. Service is available in much of the 210 and 830 area codes. With several thousand combined users, and a firm belief in controlled expansion, carrier drops and busy signals are almost non existent, thus offering a second advantage over the nationals. Business service is emphasized through hosting proprietary computer servers for local companies, along with promoting T-1 and other high speed, high band width products. The web site is addressed at http://www.web-a-dex.com and along with the standard fare, offers unique content to the internet user. The list of convenient features and services is long. News, weather, sports, dictionary, library, search, research, encyclopedia, translator, free voice chat, shopping, chat, email, web pages, original art and music are all presented in a user friendly manner. The company or the owner may be contacted at spacerocker@web-a-dex.com.
